Department of Public Health | Fresher’s Orientation – spring 2025
The Department of Public Health at the Canadian University of Bangladesh warmly welcomed its newest cohort of Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) and Master of Public Health (MPH) during the Spring 2025 Freshers' Orientation Ceremony, held on May 09, 2025.
The program was honored by the presence of our Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. H. M. Zahirul Haque and Pro Vice Chancellor, *Prof. Dr. Gias U. Ahsan, who extended heartfelt congratulations and shared powerful insights on the evolving field of public health.
Dr. Rokshana Rabeya, Associate Professor & Co-Chair of the Department, formally inaugurated the session, offering both a warm welcome and a glimpse into the department’s commitment to academic excellence and student growth.
A special address by Rezina Sultana, Head of English Department left a lasting impact, as she encouraged the students to embrace their journey with confidence and purpose.
From the Faculty of Public Health, several esteemed members inspired and informed students:
Dr. Manzila Manzur extended warm greetings and encouraged students to stay engaged and curious.
Mr. Naimul Islam highlighted the importance of research and evidence-based learning in modern public health practice.
Mr. Hamid Al Muktadir spoke about career paths and opportunities in public health.
Adjunct faculty Shakkor Ahmed and Arnab Choudhury also shared motivational words and offered guidance as the new students embark on their academic journey.
Importantly, Mrs. Mahfuja Khanam, Program Officer, guided students through essential administrative processes. She clearly explained academic responsibilities, advising procedures, and documentation tasks—ensuring that students feel supported and informed from day one.
The orientation served as both an informative session and a moment of celebration — setting the tone for a successful and enriching semester ahead.
