Short Biography

Mashrur Rahman Mahin serves as a full-time, permanent Lecturer in the Department of Law at the Canadian University of Bangladesh. He is also the Adviser of the Canadian University of Bangladesh Law and Moot Club (CUBLMC). He holds a Specialized LLM in International Law and an LLB (Honours) from Jahangirnagar University, where he excelled as a top student. His career trajectory includes significant practical experiences, such as a Traineeship in the Corporate and Commercial division at ProLegal and an Apprenticeship at the District & Sessions Judge Court in Dhaka.

Mashrur's professional and academic pursuits have fostered a deep proficiency in various legal fields, including International Criminal Law, Cyber Security Law, ICT Law, Law of Torts, and Economic Analysis of Law. His dedication to legal education is manifest in his participation in moot court competitions, notably the Gujarat International Maritime Arbitration Competition (GIMAC) 2020, Gujarat, India, and as the researcher of Team Jahangirnagar University in the 2021 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (Global Rounds).

As a moot coach
  • 9th Jessup Moot Court Competition Bangladesh National Round 2025 - securing 6th place in the national ranking among 44 universities, marking CUB's highest achievement to date.
  • Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition 2024-2025 (Bangladesh Round) - guiding the CUB team to 5th place among 35 universities.
  • 3rd TIB-DUMCS Anti-Corruption Moot Court Competition 2024 - coaching Team CUB to 4th place among 20 universities.

Beyond his contributions to CUB, Mashrur was also an Adjunct Faculty Member at Bangladesh Open University, where he played an active role in legal education.

His engagement in legal aid and public interest initiatives includes volunteering as a Street Lawyer with iProbono, where he provided pro bono legal services to underprivileged communities in Dhaka. He has also contributed as an Editorial Assistant at NILS Bangladesh Editorial Board, where he helped edit law journals, manage research publications, and organize legal conferences.
