The Annual Debate Competition Successfully Held In Canadian University of Bangladesh
The competition featured 6 teams of students from the Department of Law, who debated on topics ranging from human rights to environmental issues. The judges were composed of eminent lawyers, professors, and National Debating alumni of the country.<br>
The competition was a showcase of the student’s skills in research, argumentation, communication and teamwork. The debates were lively, engaging, and informative, with each team presenting their views with clarity and conviction.<br>
The final round of the competition was between the teams “Neynishtha” and “Odommo Ucchash” of the Department of Law. A panel consisting of Mohammad Sunzad Sheikh, head of the Department of Law, CUB; Nafiz Absar Mahmood; Abu Zafor Ahmed; and Md. Nazrul Islam acted as adjudicator for the round. The debate was intense and balanced, with both teams making strong points and rebuttals.<br>
After close deliberation, the judges declared the team from “Neynishtha”, consisting of Iftakharul Haque, Sanjid Ahmed Rabbi, and Jesmin Akter Jui as the winners of the competition. They praised their ability to provide relevant examples, logical reasoning, and persuasive delivery. “Odommo Ucchash” consisting of Asma Monir, Abu Hasan, Tanjiman Kaiser were the Runner-Ups.
