This year’s theme, “সমৃদ্ধ হোক গ্রন্থাগার, এই আমাদের অঙ্গীকার” (Enrich the Library—Our Commitment), inspired a series of engaging activities aimed at fostering research, collaboration, and student participation.

Professor Dr. H M Jahirul Haque, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of CUB, inaugurated the event with his warm welcoming speech, highlighting the importance of library in higher education. Professor Dr. Gias U Ahsan, PhD, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Convener of Sajeda Chowdhury Library Committee, delivered an impactful speech on the significance of libraries in this information era, emphasizing their role in knowledge dissemination and academic development.

The celebration commenced with a vibrant rally, which saw active participation from library officials and faculty members, students, and other officials of CUB. The rally, held within the university premises, emphasized the crucial role libraries play in academic and personal growth. Participants carried banners and placards highlighting the importance of libraries in shaping an enlightened society. The rally started journey from university premises and end at Ground floor of the university. 

The event concluded with an interactive session where students and faculty members exchanged ideas on enhancing library services and accessibility. The Sajeda Chowdhury Library reaffirmed its dedication to providing quality resources and an enriched learning environment for the university community.

Following the rally, a seminar on “Open Access Resources for the Open World” was organized on 3rd February, 2025 at the CUB auditorium with the presence of Professor Dr. Dilara Begum where she served as the keynote speaker, delivering an insightful address on the transformative impact of open access resources in higher education.

National Library Day 2025 at CUB was a resounding success, inspiring students and educators alike to embrace the power of knowledge and the importance of libraries in academic and intellectual development.
