CUB Law Secures 5th in Stetson Int’l Environmental Moot Court 2024–25
The Canadian University of Bangladesh (CUB), Department of Law, proudly announced its success in the Bangladesh Round of the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition 2024–2025. Competing against 35 universities, 32 teams—including CUB—qualified for the preliminary rounds based on the strength of their memorials.
This year’s competition was exceptionally challenging, with 12 teams winning all four court sessions during the preliminary rounds. From these, only 8 teams qualified for the quarterfinals, determined by memorial scores and, in cases of ties, by winning all three judges’ ballots.
Under the guidance of Coach Mashrur Rahman Mahin (Adviser, CUB Law and Moot Club; Lecturer, Department of Law), the CUB team—Jannatunnesa Jeba, Asef Ibnul, and Sanjid Ahmed Rabbi—showcased outstanding skill and perseverance. They triumphed over four strong opponents in the preliminary rounds, including teams from BRAC University and Green University of Bangladesh.
Individual Achievements:
Mooter Asef Ibnul: 10th among 64 mooters nationwide
Mooter Jannatunnesa Jeba: 19th among 64 mooters nationwide
Memorial Ranking: 10th among all 34 universities
In the quarterfinals, the team delivered an impressive performance against the University of Dhaka, which ultimately emerged as the champion of the Bangladesh Round and also won the Best Memorial Award.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the team for their remarkable performance and are immensely proud of their dedication and hard work. Thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged our mooters throughout this journey!
