President and Chancellor Abdul Hamid appointed Prof Dr Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam as the Vice Chancellor of Canadian University of Bangladesh (CUB) for four years recently. Prior to joining as the VC, Dr Mahfuz has served various national and international organizations. He was the Head of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) Department and the Provost of Shahid Smriti Hall in BUET.

Dr Mahfuz new VC of Canadian University of Bangladesh

Image aligned to the right President and Chancellor Abdul Hamid appointed Prof Dr Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam as the Vice Chancellor of Canadian University of Bangladesh (CUB) for four years recently. Prior to joining as the VC, Dr Mahfuz has served various national and international organizations. He was the Head of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) Department and the Provost of Shahid Smriti Hall in BUET. 

Dr Mahfuz was also elected President of Bangladesh Computer Society for two terms. He also served as an independent Director of Dhaka Electricity Supply Company (DESCO) Ltd. He is globally recognized as a former lecturer, instructor and researcher of Monash University, Australia. Born in 1973 in Jamalpur district, Dr Mahfuz completed his Masters (MSc Engg) and Bachelor (BSc Engg) in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from BUET. 

He was awarded PhD in Information Technology (IT) from Monash University, Australia. The professor enriched with training in various countries including France, Belgium, USA, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Mongolia, Hong-Kong, Myanmar and China.

Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Canadian University of Bangladesh cordially invites you to celebrate National ICT Day 2017 on 12 December 2017, Tuesday at 12 p.m. at the auditorium. The government has declared 12th December as National Information Communication and Technology Day and is going to be celebrated countrywide. We shall have Professor Dr. Mahfuzul Islam as our chief guest and Mr. Ajmat Iqbal, CEO of Reve Systems as the special guest. The students will participate in the interactive sessions with our honorable guests.
